Strong victory in excellence strategy
Leibniz Universität Hannover wins funding for two own research projects. The Institute for Gravitational Physics and the Max Planck Institute for Gravitational Physics are partners in both.
A huge success for Leibniz Universität Hannover in the federal and state excellence strategy: The research projects QuantumFrontiers (Light and Matter at the Quantum Frontier: Foundations and Applications in Metrology) and PhoenixD (Photonics, Optics, and Engineering Innovation - Across Disciplines) will become clusters of excellence and thus receive several million Euro of funding from 1st January 2019.
Researchers from the Institute for Gravitational Physics at Leibniz Universität Hannover and the Max Planck Institute for Gravitational Physics (Albert Einstein Institute; AEI) are involved in both research projects. Prof. Dr. Karsten Danzmann, Director at the AEI and Director of the Institute of Gravitational Physics, is the managing spokesperson of the cluster of excellence QuantumFrontiers, which deals with light and matter at the quantum boundary.
