Main Focus

My research focuses on testing General Relativity using gravitational waves from compact binaries. I specifically work on the Flexible-Theory-Independent method that tests if there are any changes to the inspiral part of the waveform. The current goals are to improve the FTI code to include more physical effects, and to get it ready for use during LIGO’s fourth observing run.

Curriculum Vitae

2022 – date: PhD student in Alessandra Buonanno’s department at the Max Planck Institute for Gravitational Physics in Potsdam.
2019 – 2021: Msc in Astronomy and Cosmology at Universiteit Leiden in the Netherlands. For my first research project I studied the alignment of brightest cluster galaxies in the Hydrangea simulations. For my masters research project I focused on gravitational wave echoes in the ringdown phase of binary black hole mergers.
Fall 2017: Erasmus exchange to Uppsala Universitet in Sweden.
2015 – 2019: BSc in Mathematics and BSc in Physics and Astronomy at Universiteit Utrecht in the Netherlands. In my bachelor research project I focused on graph algorithms for counting triangles and enumerating trusses.
