Public talk and discussion: “Sounds from the Universe: Measuring and Interpreting Gravitational Waves”
Lecture by Alessandra Buonanno followed by a discussion between her, Annika Kahrs and Louis d'Heudières

Gravitational waves are ripples in the fabric of space-time that are generated, among other sources, by coalescing black holes. They were measured directly for the first time in 2015 with the LIGO gravitational-wave detectors in the USA.
