This webpage contains information on how to apply for internships in this department. Students are expected to actively participate in the activities of the research group. Research areas include gravitational-wave astronomy using laser interferometers and pulsar timing arrays. Please read the instructions below and follow them to apply. If you have further questions after reading this webpage, please contact Gabriele Richardson via email.
If you are interested in doing a summer internship, please send an email containing the following items to interns-obsrelcos@aei.mpg.de
- a cover letter describing your motivation and interest, and providing information on third party funding to cover travel and accommodation costs. Financial support is available upon request. Please indicate the earliest possible start date and the latest possible end date of your internship.
- your curriculum vitae (including a list of any publications),
- transcript of your academic grades.
Items 1 to 3 should be submitted as a single .pdf attachment.
Please arrange for two letters of reference in .pdf format to be sent by the referees themselves to the same email address (interns-obsrelcos@aei.mpg.de). In your cover letter please let us know from whom we should expect the letters.
The deadline for summer applications is the 1st of March. All applications sent to interns-obsrelcos@aei.mpg.de are evaluated annually in early March. The first offers will be sent on March 21st. It may take another two or three weeks until all applicants are informed about the outcome of their applications. Applications sent directly to individual members of this research group will not be considered.
