Childcare & Child Benefits
In case you are planning to move to Germany with your child or children, we would recommend you to start looking for a kindergarten spot as soon as possible. The process may take up quite a lot of time, and you may have to be on a waiting list first. Here are a couple of resources that can help you along the way.
Family Service "Familienservice pme"
Support with finding childcare, emergency care, or care for the elderly family members.
Campus Kindergarten in Potsdam
The AEI Potsdam has a cooperation with the kindergarten “Kita Springfrosch”.
Kindergarten "Leibniz-Kids" Hannover
The kindergarten “Leibniz-Kids” offers regular day care places for up to 30 children, and 12 additional backup spots.
If you are residing in Germany with your child or children, you may be eligible to apply for child benefit (Kindergeld). The child benefit is not received automatically, you need to submit your application at the Family Benefits Office (Familienkasse) in your area.
